I think guilt and shame is birth given, but one is just not conscious about it before later on; when new born one is more or les full awake in the present, and mostly have forgot everything else.
yes, one can't become anything else than one allready is, and I think guilt and shame is not just limited to our physical present being, some aliens out there are reading our lines, why else should we write in this foreign language, universal is all what is, all, we are.
From the birth of our children - I of course also have experienced everything so present, one just knows the child comes from a paradise-level; that is what is present, and if all other emotions are just contructions put on to the newborn from the conciousness of the adults, then should we all never have lived here before. If one never experienced pain for instanse - then one would never learn ordinary borders or in a bigger view: resurrection power.
